This is amazing! Not quite finished with what’s there so far, but I wanted to drop you some praise:

  • art style is great
  • atmospheric and a bit mysterious, makes me want to explore
  • satisfying progression, my poor ivan has gone from barely able to beat basic zombies to killing a few bosses
  • a little rough, but compelling - i wanna see what’s out there: can i kill hodag some day? why does the camp counselor look like that when i attack? what are all these things
  • gameplay reminds me of some good games (fear and hunger, don’t look outside) but is clearly your own, haven’t played anything quite like it - the exploration system and ‘intro’ system are really cool1

I haven’t managed to unlock any skills yet, even though I’ve killed some bosses. I’m guessing you need to sacrifice some fellow campers…

Also not totally clear how ‘energy’ works. Recharging - is it an amount of real time I need to spend in an area? Screen transitions? Something else?

Anyways, even if you never revisit this, it’s very worth playing! Thanks for sharing it, and I’ll be watching you.

I think I’ve just about seen what there is now, but there are enemies on your changelog posts I didn’t see, so…

At any rate, amazing game! Managed to explore all areas, and got my first ‘spell’ much too late - by then I’d already defeated Hodag and the Mushroom King. Ah well.

Good stuff - again, thanks for sharing. Here’s an image to show what all I encountered in a spoiler free way :)

I’m really grateful for the feedback—it motivates me to keep working on the game! I work on the game on my days off, which is why it takes me a while to post updates, but I plan to release the next version soon. Thank you so much! As for the items you haven’t unlocked, it might be because they’re unique to a specific character (for now).

Exciting, I’ll watch for updates, and definitely try a different character next time. Thanks again for sharing your work!
