I believe that the worldbuilding (of ECHO ) in Lovecraftian horror is not as rigorous as that of science fiction or fantasy. What it emphasizes is more of a philosophical perspective.

Lovecraftian horror is fundamentally about “information asymmetry.” If you explain the mechanisms behind the unknown too rigorously, you may actually diminish the sense of horror.

Yes! It feels refreshing when they don't feel the need to explain everything, there isn't enough time to explore the world of echo to the fullest, but it feels bigger because of it.
