Having also submitted a cat game, I really appreciate the approach you took to rendering our feline friends in 8-bit form. It reads really clearly as a cat, and the way you communicated the fur pattern and little paws was really smart. Believe me when I say it took a lot of tinkering to get my cat down as small as I possibly could.

The whole vibe felt really chill, and I think a lot of that came from the graceful run animation. I mean, you’re also whacking bumblebees with a magic fish, which is cute in and of itself, but the movement just felt really light and graceful.

What can I say? I love cats. And heck I love this game! Great job!

Thank you so much! Thats really wonderful to hear! Game jams are all about making a thing, then making the thing good. To be honest there were a few stages of the animation for Churro because it wasn’t a perfect thing the first try. Here’s an early sprite sheet workspace I had before I was committed to the black border and pushed for churros fur pattern. Honestly at first I was only with him appearing solid orange if it read better as a cat. ❤️ Thanks again for the kind words c:
