Finished it, corrected build. Verified Sorel with o1+o2+o4+s2, so the fix landed clean.

What got me: my first challenge was the right suspect with the wrong proof, and INSUFFICIENT EVIDENCE stung exactly right. A hunch isn't a case. That's the whole game in one screen.

The row I almost threw away was "Sensor status NORMAL / no fault recorded". It reads like flavor until you see it's the only thing that makes the 0-occupants reading mean anything. Good trap, and fair.

Small friction: the evidence screen lists your pinned records with their section label but no record id, so when I brought three of four I couldn't tell which one was missing without going back. In a 5-10 min game that re-read IS the game, so I'd leave it. Just flagging that the moment I felt dumb was the moment the design was working.

Entry 87 here (THE STAY, a one-button vampire slice, ~10 min). Happy to trade playtests.

Thanks for coming back to test the corrected build — really glad to know the fix held up in an actual playthrough.

Also, “a hunch isn't a case” might be a better summary of what I wanted this game to feel like than anything I wrote for it 😄

The evidence-screen friction is a useful observation too. I'm going to leave it alone for now rather than immediately smooth it out — especially since, as you said, having to go back and interrogate the records again may actually be part of what makes the case work.

And absolutely — I'll come play THE STAY. Thanks for the trade!
