There was no puzzle involving intentional dying. (Up to a recent build, there was however a way to cheat by dying!). I am curious, which section were you thinking death was the answer?
There was a section with 3 coins on the left. There was a one-way in with a stream, which I don't think changed direction? I couldn't found any other way out so I just death reset.
Third level? If it's what I think it was, the exit from the room is through a spongey breakable rock (it's a big bigger in size than earlier ones, so might not be as recognizable). Glad you got past it though!
