A Fantastic Beginning — Fated Has Me Hooked

I went into Fated not really knowing what to expect, and after finishing the Prologue and Chapter 1, I can safely say this game has my attention.

The opening was genuinely entertaining. The humor landed, the characters already have personality, and the story didn't feel like it was desperately rushing toward the adult content. Instead, it actually takes some time to introduce Sawyer, establish the world, and let you get to know the people around him. I found myself laughing several times, and by the end I genuinely wanted to see what happens next.

But one of the biggest things that stood out to me was the women.

THANK YOU for making attractive women who actually look like real women.

They're beautiful and sexy without everyone having gigantic boobs, impossible proportions, or bodies that look like they were designed by someone who has never encountered a human woman before. 😂 There is actual variety here, and the more realistic character designs make the women far more attractive to me. I really hope the developer sticks with this direction as more characters are introduced.

The relationship and personality systems also have a lot of potential. I like that Sawyer isn't simply a predetermined protagonist and that your choices help shape whether he becomes more brave, logical, or empathetic. I'm especially curious to see how those choices start affecting relationships and future scenes once the story gets deeper.

And that's probably the biggest compliment I can give a first release:

I finished it wanting more.

The Prologue and Chapter 1 feel like the beginning of something much bigger. There's humor, mystery, attractive and believable characters, an interesting setting, and enough going on beneath the surface that I want to know where the story is heading.

Obviously, it's still early and there's a lot of game left to come, but if this first chapter is an indication of what's ahead, Fated has one hell of a foundation to build on.

🔥 Great opening. Great-looking characters. Funny writing. Interesting premise.

Bring on Chapter 2. I'm ready.

❌ The Biggest Negative — Let Me Name My Character!

If I have one major complaint so far, it's that you can't change Sawyer's name.

For a choice-driven visual novel where I'm supposed to shape his personality, relationships, and romantic life, being locked into a predetermined name feels strangely restrictive. If I'm deciding whether he's brave, logical, empathetic, who he gets close to, and what kind of person he becomes, I'd really like the option to give him my own name too.

It's a relatively small feature, but for me it adds a surprising amount of immersion. I don't necessarily want to play Sawyer's story—I want to feel like I'm creating my version of the protagonist within this story.

Hopefully custom naming gets added in a future update. Even if Sawyer remains the default name, simply giving players the option to change it would be a fantastic quality-of-life addition.

Let Sawyer be Sawyer for people who want that—but let the rest of us rename the poor bastard. 😂
