It was custom engine.
I realized that I have to press a second time after the foot symbol appears to walk to that tile. I managed to find two mines then stopped.
The character looked goofy when it rotated while going up or down in level 3.
Actually you control the penguin with WASD. I will double check that the mouse point and click controls are disabled.
