Many people have thoughts about "what" to leave in their legacy. No one wants that question turns into "who" to leave behind. Sometimes, I've wondered if it can be yourself.
The question of identity and career is something I've always wanted to looked at closely, especially in the lens of an identity essentially being your career's lifework. Should personal matters, struggles, past, upbringing, or challenges truly be celebrated? Identity politics is a term thrown around in art communities, but here in the scientific and activism circles explored, I find some similar, messy answers to these questions. Sobering and gutting, even when handled as deftly as this.
