While this is a nice game... it's not insightful. It's a collection of memories and the diary is shallow and sentimental. If you've gone through something like this, I hope the anger and depression aren't constantly redone because it will keep you in that space. I had a dad like Donald Trump and it took an awful long time to get past it and by now I feel like I've missed out on quite a lot. I doubt you're the analytical type so my attempt to be helpful might not work, but I suggest that getting used to bad parents who make you feel bad can rearrange you emotionally and psychologically so that you automatically react and those reactions and patterns can be like throwing the same pebbles into a pond, unsettling things that would work well if they weren't constantly disturbed.
Then again, it's taken a lot of guesses to become even somewhat self-aware and correct problems, so I don't know what to say or if there's any advice to give. Except... to keep guessing. It's not like we ever knew what we were doing in the first place and the world wants us to guess in its favour. Starting over means returning to guessing and guessing is how to live, how to learn and respond to the moment. Getting too sure of this way or that way, even programming yourself, can get in the way of living your life. Then again... in a world with a lot of people also reacting to stuff, they kind of expect you to sync up.
Don't blame yourself for the problems of parents and don't change too much or become too sure of the person you became to cope with them or accommodate them.
There is a way to be happy in the world the way it is, but it looks like foolishness to me. But you can be happy. Maybe don't take anything too seriously and keep your imagination and happiness at the forefront of your mind, even when dealing with serious stuff. I've tried to learn so much about this world and I have, I think, but the world and a lot of people in it are so irresponsible and stupid that focusing on the world the way it is and responding to it constantly without any imagination or perspective can be depressing. Just like it was depressing to put up with angry, unfair, and miserable parents.
Anyway, cute game. I hope you keep a positive attitude and let any troublesome stuff inside you sort itself out on its own. And I hope you come up with good ideas on how you want to be and they're not so impractical that you find yourself falling away from them just to deal with the world the way it is.
