The style and concept are super cool, I wasn't sure what to do during the phase when the scarecrow starts to run up and hit you. Felt like it was impossible to hit it without taking damage myself. Could benefit from a way to heal.
I agree, from testing several times, a lot people suggested having the pumpkins drop health, but I have other ideas in mind ;)
