If anyone is experiencing SLOW AND UNRESPONSIVE UI, follow these steps:
Press Shift + G in main menu, select Angle2 Renderer and set framerate to 60 fps (optional). Restart the game.
For some reason, it defaults to the GL2 renderer when set to auto and OpenGL, frankly, sucks a**.
