Hello! I'm having issues implementing the system and getting a bug I have no idea how to fix. Do you have a discord server I could talk to someone on?

I've followed the Getting Started tutorial, double checked every step at least three times now. When I try to place an object however, the mode changes from 2 to 0, leaving build mode and no item appears at the indicator thing.

Hey! Yeah, there’s a Discord here: https://discord.gg/yPVpR5GzPb

If it’s switching from mode 2 back to 0 when you try to place, something is definitely going wrong there.

Can you send a screenshot of your scene tree + any errors from the Godot Output panel when it happens? A short clip showing the placement attempt would help too.

Inspector settings screenshots etc may help as well.

Hi, thanks for replying so fast! The Discord link is invalid. My version is 5.0.9 and Godot 4.4.

My issue is that I'm not able to place my object at all. It exits out of build mode when I try to select it from the UI/list. It exits the UI and everything like I've pressed escape.

I did find these errors eventually, but I'm a little confused. I have added a TileMapLayer and a Node2D to GBLevelContext. Is LevelBuildingContext a node I'm missing?

The output shows this when I open build mode with 2, and then click the object I want to place. The mode changed -> 0 appears when I click. And the clearing selected placeable.

Sorry I'm not able to provide a video right now! The apartment is the object I'm trying to place.

Updated the discord link above in my original response sorry about the bad link earlier. I’m looking into the issue now.

You might be missing a GBOwner node. Added to where the players placement authority should exist (whether its the game character or the god hand placing objects at runtime). You could add this to the GridPlacement and set the GridPositioner2D as the owner root.

If that isn’t it, double check your injection root on the GBInjectorSystem. Ping me on the discord. Thanks :) 6.0 is going to solve a lot of this node structure setup complexity. Actively trying to get it ready for publish soon.

The errors tab where it says (18) and (23) in red might have more revealing information as well.
