there are some dependency files, if you see any.bat files in there you can try launching those first to install whats needed, and then use the launcher when all is done, look at what the cmd prompt says, wait for it to load and see if it comes up. If not then go into the game folder and launch the main.py. Let me know what you get when that happens.

Edit: uploaded a new build just to make sure xD

Afterlife of IO has a very unique atmosphere and an interesting sci-fi concept. I really liked the idea of exploring different eras of the same world, the memory/archive theme, and the way the game tries to make you question what information you can trust.

The visual style and overall presentation feel very distinctive, and there’s clearly a lot of ambition behind the project. I also liked the variety of systems, especially the Guardian encounters, progression, and the idea of corrupted battle information.

The biggest issue for me was the initial setup. I had some difficulty getting the game to launch because Python and pygame dependencies had to be installed manually before everything worked correctly. Once that was solved, the game ran properly. I think making the installation/startup process more straightforward would help a lot, especially for players who aren’t familiar with Python environments.

Overall, I found the concept very creative and the world intriguing. There’s a lot here that makes me want to explore further and understand more about IO, the archives, and The Mind.

Thank you for the feedback! The lore is pretty deep and its just a small timeline of the main story! I connect most of my games to the same universe, Mirror's Limbo is part of that too but its an entirely different kind of game in the liminal space genre. They are "dimensions" in the HoloVerse which is found in Glitched Matrix: Prototype Lab 1 app on steam that branches into many games all in the same app. I'll get that launcher to install the requirements automatically if possible. I sent out a new update hopefully that does something. Keep a lookout for more!
