Okay, I just tried running this on Apple Silicon running Mac OS using Sikarugir instead of Crossover, and it works even better, only Sikarugir is free. Because Sikarugir itself is several steps to install, it's probably not ideal to just drop all the steps in a comment, but if anyone wants to go down that road, it does work.
