The only thing is, I'll probably implement all these languages in the next patch, and I think that I'll make it in a few days, just so you know
Hi,
Great news — thank you! Here's the repo:
https://github.com/farrelalt/delivery-guy-indonesian.git
Quick note on the format: I captured the text at runtime with BepInEx + XUnity.AutoTranslator, so it's a flat `English=Indonesian` list rather than a proper localization file, with `\n` for line breaks. It's keyed to the literal English strings, not your internal IDs, so you'll likely want to map it across.
It also only covers text I actually saw on screen, so anything I didn't reach in-game is missing. If you send me your raw source strings once your localization system is set up, I'll gladly fill it in properly and close the gaps.
Also, if you're targeting Indonesia: Windah Basudara is one of the biggest Indonesian gaming YouTubers and covers a lot of indie horror from itch.io. Worth a heads-up when the update ships.
Thanks again for the credit!
Best,
lynx
Thank you so much! I found the translation file inside the ZIP and I’ll use it as the basis for the official Indonesian translation.
I’m planning to work on a multilingual update tomorrow evening, adding Italian, Spanish, and Indonesian together with a few minor bug fixes. I’ll handle transferring your existing translations into the game myself.
Since the file only includes the text you encountered during your playthrough, I’ll collect the remaining English strings while working on the update and send you anything that is missing. Once everything has been added, I’d also be happy to send you a test build so you can check the Indonesian translation in context before the update is released.
Since Indonesian will be included officially, please hold off on publicly releasing the separate mod for now, if that’s okay with you.
You’ll of course be fully credited for the translation. Please let me know whether you’d prefer to be credited as “lynx,” “farrelalt,” or another name, and whether you’d like me to include a link to your GitHub profile.
Thank you as well for suggesting Windah Basudara! I’ll definitely keep him in mind and try reaching out once the update is available.
Thanks again for all the work you’ve put into this!
Best, Ale Unfall Games
Thanks Ale, this honestly made my day. I really appreciate you taking the translation on board and giving it a proper home in the game.
For the credit, please use **Althaf Farrel**. No need for the GitHub link, the credit alone is more than enough.
And no worries at all about holding off the mod. Having it official is way better anyway, so I'm happy to wait.
Send the missing strings whenever you've got them and I'll get them done fast. If you can note who's speaking or where a line shows up, that helps a lot, a few lines were hard to guess without context.
Would love a test build too. Indonesian usually runs longer than English so some UI text will probably overflow, and that's way easier to catch in-game than in a text file.
Thanks again for being so generous about all this. Good luck with the update tomorrow!
Thank you so much, Althaf! And of course, I'll credit you as Althaf Farrel in the game :)
I went through the files today and I think everything is basically ready on the translation side. There were only two lines that hadn't been translated, so I did a bit of research myself and I think I managed to find good Indonesian translations for both of them. I'll still make sure they make sense in context once everything is inside the game.
I'm now working on putting the localization directly into the game, and once the Indonesian version is implemented I'll send you a test build so you can check everything in-game, especially any text that overflows or sounds unnatural in context.
Also, something pretty crazy happened today — I don't know if you know him, but Kubz Scouts played The Delivery Guy in his latest video, which honestly made me really happy.
That actually made me want to ask you something, since you know the Indonesian gaming scene much better than I do.
I'd really love to somehow get The Delivery Guy in front of Windah Basudara. I feel like this kind of short weird indie horror game could fit his channel really well, especially once the official Indonesian translation is in the game.
Do you know what the best way would be to approach him or submit a game to him? Maybe a specific email, Discord, community, social media account, or some other way Indonesian indie developers usually get their games noticed by him?
I really don't want to spam him, I just want to give the game the best possible chance of reaching him.
And if there are any other Indonesian YouTubers or streamers you think would be a great fit for the game, I'd love to hear your recommendations too!
Also, for the Indonesian test build, would you be okay with moving over to Discord? I think it would be much easier there to send you the build, screenshots, and any little fixes we might need to go through together.
If you're fine with that, just send me your Discord username and I'll add you!
That's awesome news about Kubz Scouts, congrats! Well deserved.
And yes, Discord works great for me. My username is lynxcv7 feel free to add me whenever.
Happy to help with the Windah question. Some context first, because I think the opportunity here is bigger than you might realise.
Indonesia has one of the largest gaming audiences in the world, and YouTube is absolutely the centre of it here. Indie horror in particular does incredibly well, short, weird, atmospheric games are basically the bread and butter of the biggest Indonesian gaming channels. A game like The Delivery Guy fits that space almost perfectly.
Windah Basudara is the biggest Indonesian gaming YouTuber right now, and his community is genuinely massive. His Discord server has close to a million members. That's the best route in, I think.
How I'd approach it: join the Discord and look for the indie game role or channel. Servers that size usually have a dedicated space for devs to submit games, and going through the proper channel is far better received than DMing or tagging him repeatedly. Grab the role, post there once, and let it sit.
When you post, keep it short and make it easy to say yes to:
- One line on what the game is and how long it takes to finish
- A free key or the itch link
- Mention the official Indonesian translation prominently. That's your real hook very few small indie horror games ship with proper Indonesian, and it's a genuine reason for an Indonesian channel to pick yours over the hundreds of others in their inbox
- A short clip or GIF if you have one
You're right not to want to spam that instinct is correct here. One good post in the right place beats ten messages everywhere else.
Other channels worth trying: MiawAug is probably your strongest second option. He's built his whole channel around indie horror playthroughs and has a huge audience, so The Delivery Guy is squarely his kind of thing. Reza Arap and Ericko Lim are also worth a look, though horror is less of their core focus.
Honestly, I'd send it to a few of them rather than betting everything on Windah. The mid-size horror channels here often pick things up faster, and once a game starts circulating in that scene it tends to travel upward on its own.
Happy to help write the Indonesian version of the pitch if that would be useful might land better coming across as written by someone local.
And thanks again for involving me in all of this. It's been really fun to be part of.
Just added you on Discord so it'll be easier to send the Indonesian test build and go through any translation/UI issues together.
And thanks again for all the advice about Windah and the Indonesian scene — that was genuinely really useful. I definitely want to try the Discord route you suggested once the Indonesian update is ready.
Also, I'd absolutely love your help with the Indonesian version of the pitch when we get to that!
