## How Much Should I Let the Monster Mess With Chat?

I'm working on **Night Shift: The House**, a horror game where the streamer controls one survivor while **chat collectively controls another**.

I've got the basic chat controls working, and now I'm building the part I'm most excited about:

**Night Shift interfering with the players.**

Right now I'm testing the idea that Night Shift can steal an item directly out of chat's inventory.

I'm trying to decide what ability I should build next:

**A — Blackout**

Night Shift kills the lights in the room chat is currently exploring.

**B — Locked In**

Night Shift temporarily locks the doors around the chat-controlled survivor.

**C — False Command**

Night Shift corrupts the UI and makes one of chat's commands display incorrectly.

**D — Inventory Thief**

Night Shift reaches into the inventory and steals one of chat's items.

Which one would create the best panic without becoming annoying?

**A, B, C, or D?**

I'm leaning toward D, but I'm curious what other horror players/devs would pick.
