Hello and welcome to Feedback Quest 9! My name is Hythrain, and I'm one of the hosts for this lovely event! I'm also one of the streamers, so both the game and this feedback are being done live! If you want to see the see the VOD, let me know and I'll link you to it when it's uploaded to YouTube!
So I'm not the biggest fan of idle games, since... well, does it really constitute a game when you don't even need to have much input yet it can still play? For me, idle games can be really hit or miss. I'm not going to expound on if this was a hit or a miss for me because it doesn't matter. Instead, I'll focus on what matters: feedback to improve it. To that end, I wrote down a bunch of notes that I'll share with you here.
First, I'd like to see an option to make the game full screen on computer. That way, I can make use of the full real estate of my screen. I also won't accidentally click out of the game when I'm manually controlling it.
Next, an option to delete characters would be an idea. That way, if a player wants to start over they can do so without needing to unlock a new slot.
Third, the game is honestly rather slow for moving around. I'd love for there to be a button to make you run. While you can jump and do a very short dash, I've yet to see either affect gameplay. Yet being able to run would be great.
I was also not a fan of how there's no punishment for death. Without it, it means I can just let the game farm and not even worry about stocking potions. Speaking of potions, it'd be nice if I could buy singular potions.
One thing I'd like to see is equipment be different depending on the class you choose. If I pick being a mage, I shouldn't still be equipping swords and heavy armour, but I SHOULD equip robes and tomes. In a similar vein, the Guild Master saying "That sword suits you" when you don't pick a job using a sword doesn't make sense. Instead, the words should change based on the selected class.
I noticed that there's a line of white pixels underneath the slimes in their animation. Obviously, this shouldn't be the case. It, among other things (such as how you handle animation for dashing), makes the game look poor in quality.
Next, I feel like more of the game should be taught to the player instead of letting them figure out everything. A prime example is the fast travel, which I figured out on my own by chance. Skills, talents, equipment, everything should be taught piece by piece to the player as organically as possible.
I also felt that a lot of icons were just too small, making it hard to discern what the items were. While fullscreen can affect this, the truth is a lot of them are just displayed too small. Making them bigger so you can discern the item type from the image is important in a game like this.
Lastly, I found some rather annoying bugs. For example, if you set something to auto cook but then close the stove, it keeps cooking. It should only cook while you have the window open. I also found that if you have a menu from the townspeople up and then open one of your main menus from the interface below, it doesn't close the menu you had up. Every change of menu should automatically close other menus that are up in order to keep things clean.
That's about everything I got for now. Good luck with your game!
