The patch works when you click run game and don't select the option to full screen the game. The minute you do, or if you try playing from the downloaded version, the patch doesn't work (the problem from before shows up).
Also, for the game text, the section that says your room is locked in place and covers a little of the text as you scroll down (i.e. it's in the same fixed position all the way down).
