This really sucks. It almost happened to us the first jam we participated in as well! We got burned once with waiting to the last moment and our main takeaway was to upload a version of the game a day before the end and submit it and update it later if new developments are made. Not sure if it is recoverable now, a few years back there was an hour grace period, but not anymore.
