super cool retro-looking game with loads of potential.
few issues: didn't realize my first residential building would be permanently, unchangeably set as my/mayor's house. spent multiple hours building an apartment building, only to realize that no civilians will ever set foot in it. tried saving it as a blueprint, deleting it, placing a new smaller house to set as my/mayor's house, then place down the blueprint of my own apartment building again to put on the market.
except.. my blueprint won't show up. I'm assuming it's in the higher-density categories but they're locked without explanation and there's no info I can find about unlocking them.
issues like these seem to be the biggest problem; the game is quite rigid. no undo button, no moving structures/multiple items at once, placing down new room or ground types deletes all furniture, can't place my own sidewalks by roads, etc.
making the game's construction more forgiving with an undo button, marquee tool to move multiple objects, allowing furniture to persist after replacing the room it's in, and allowing players a bit more control over the rigid road construction would make this much closer to a 10/10 for me.
already this game does an incredible job with the amount of colour customization, furniture to choose from, outdoor structures placeable on roads and by sidewalks, prebuilt options for less detail-oriented players, and intricate simulation of civilian lives including interaction with furniture and workplaces.
also, I think this game has the capacity to skyrocket in popularity in specific niches if you allowed player-made sprites for furniture or other construction options.
