If we accept the truth that witches correspond to the description in the 1486 "Hammer of Witches," then they are likely physically vulnerable, while their souls are much stronger than their bodies and capable of surviving after death. (But while the "Hammer of Witches" may have originated the concept of witches, the modern pop-cultural image has already evolved considerably.)
