Can confirm this, and it’s easily replicated! Wow, how did I miss that? 😆
So it really doesn’t matter where you’re positioned, seems like something caused it to softlock until you can press R to reset the room.
My guess is that Rubianne isn’t technically “present” in the scene, so the game doesn’t know what to do and softlocks the game. I think the main cause is the disappearance of her in 0.4:
But in the previous version (0.3), she is present and it doesn’t cause a softlock:
