Got nostalgic for Ace of Rope recently and ended up beating it again - still a ton of fun all those years later! Chapter 4's still my favorite I think but playing as Death in 5 is always hype. Made me regret not archiving the Discord server before it was closed for the chapter 7 sneak peaks :)

I did get stuck a bit in chapter 6, couldn't find the lamp there & ended up editing the save file to give me one - I think giving the Ravioli to Karito(?) was supposed to spawn it but it didn't seem to do anything? I then tried editing in the camera to break into the mountain after the final boss, but it teleported me to the game's start instead - serves me right to be honest :)

Anyway thanks again for making this!!

You're welcome!

Let's see, reaching the braseros should set the "progress" variable to 610. It causes Karito to lie down, and when you feed him the ravioli, progress goes to 620 and he starts reaping again. I haven't reproduced the bug yet. It's one of the only cases where I check for the exact progress number.

I just checked... and in the last release there is another way to break into the mountain by editing your save, through another variable. Some room transitions will cause a crash, and I left 1-2 items for debugging, but the first half of chapter 7 is pretty much done.

I could do a devlog here for chapter 7, but at that point there's a 95% chance it won't release. But I still have Godot 3 installed, so who knows. I just don't want to release a half-assed finale.

Hm, unfortunately I didn't keep my original save, but teleporting back to Karito has him reaping without the key - but by this point I messed with the save enough that it might be a false positive. Anyway though uploaded the save here if it helps! Also managed to break into chapter 7 now, thanks for the hint :)

And no pressure, I totally get it given that the last update was over four years ago, I'd never go back to working on something so old either! But hey, where there's a 5% chance there's hope!! I did also try out the latest Uproar around a week ago and enjoyed it a lot, I think Ace of Rope just has a special place in my heart cause of, well, nostalgia :)
