you went too deep into the wilderness with no easily traceable way back. This changes at Core level 3 when you go to ONLY mono wilderneed inner regions from a Paragon settlement. But this is explicitly the way you enter and get out. Normal method require reincarnating.
This does seem to be what happened actually. Which brings me to another odd observation. You can at that stage travel into the wilderness, travel from any wilderness into the inner mono regions and from there reach any paragon arm or city but you can *never* go back to the harmonised settlement.
