This isn't abandoned, steam version has 0.91 version. They just don't want to give people free stuff anymore.
I recommend waiting until we get version 1.0 then we buy it on steam

They were doing the pattern of giving out a few free builds every so often, then it suddenly stopped.
I kinda do see them as bad guys if they're starting to private their content
