i love this game!!! im not very good at it though cuz i lwk cant draw using a mouse..... BUT IM OBSESSED!!!!! (if u see Urlocalweirdos art... thats me!!)
True. Some people are VERY good!
However there's a technique for even the artistically challenged... it won't get you votes, but it can be fun to mess around.
I've found that if you scribble all over the canvas in black, then swap to white scribble, then switch back and forth; you will make a mess, sure, but in those lines you might be able to 'see' an image of something (as the brain likes to find patterns as with Pareidolia). When you can see the outline of something in the messy environment, use your brush to enhance what you see so it looks more like what your brain thinks it should be.
A finished subject amidst a mess of random chaos ends up appearing in a grimy dreary dangerous aesthetic with horror feels. That's something one can make with only a mouse at least.
One word of warning... keeping an open mind to find possible images is very useful; but also, you should also take regular breaks.
The mind can obsess when one finds mastery with a new thinking pattern. Pareidolia is great for being artistic, but it can be annoying when you can make out shapes in real life. (I think that's what Jonathan Blow was commenting on in the final scene of the game 'the witness'. In his case, it was about habitual application of pattern recognition rather than Pareidolia, but the same theme holds true.)
