So I actually got hit with a legal notice from Epidemic Sound, the music I was using came from their catalog, and they told me that for the way I was using it (in a published game), I had to upgrade from a $10 plan to a $1200/year plan, or face legal action. Didn't really have a choice, had to pull the music on short notice and grab a royalty-free replacement from OpenGameArt in the meantime. I agree it's more generic, wasn't my first choice trust me 😅 If you've got any suggestions for royalty-free tracks that fit the game's vibe, I'mm all ears!
Yeah, hiring a composer would honestly be my first choice, but I'm still a student so I don't really have the budget for that right now. And composing it myself isn't an option either, I have zero skills in music composition haha. So for now I'll just look for similar free tracks that fit the vibe :/
