It's not entirely abandoned, there is a dev build being sporadically worked on that already has a couple new small features and some new content that will eventually get uploaded at some point.
Unfortunately I have been growing increasingly burnt out and disappointed over the last few years so I rarely have the passion or enthusiasm to work on the game after coming home from my day job.
