The flag it's checking for is if you have gysahl greens, which may have been a carryover that got missed, since, they are green choco's they should be checking for mimett greens :p
idk entirely then, when I got to that point, I admittedly had sequence broke using Gran's chocobo, then was able to grab a green choco after dungeon with the text it ate a mimett even tho I did not have the key item yet, figured it was a failsafe to prevent softlocking at the time XD
