It would be nice to be able to queue research for long idle periods, say for work and sleep. Otherwise, this is actually a fairly well-balanced and fun-ish game, which is better than I can say for the vast majority of idle/incremental games. The automatic speed up with no time cap(?) on reopening the game is very nice.
