I agree so whole heartedly. I'm ignoring that ending and thinking the brother is fine but it was mistaken identity. (trying to be so vague)
that would have been too easy and I didn’t do that in the ending on purpose. I wanted it to reflect the world as a whole at that time right after the war: there is no true happy endings, just compromises.
