I have had no problems running the game on Bazzite through the Heroic Launcher which mainly uses proton and wine. So Steam should be able to run it as well.
I run it on CachyOS and SteamOS through steam, using ProtonGE 11-5. Works perfectly so far, only bugs I've encountered are ones also encountered by windows users
