Playtest Feedback – Flip Market
Hi! I spent some time testing the game and I wanted to share some bugs, issues and suggestions I noticed during the playtest.
🐛 Bugs / Issues
1. Camera movement after pressing ESC
After pressing ESC and returning to the game, the camera's movement becomes heavily restricted. I can only move the camera a small amount instead of being able to rotate freely around the character.
The issue can be fixed by pressing the left mouse button once.
Steps to reproduce:
- Enter the game.
- Press ESC.
- Return to the game.
- Try moving the camera.
Expected: The camera should have the same range of movement as before opening the menu.
Actual: The camera movement becomes restricted.
💡 Suggestions / Gameplay Feedback
2. Add a clear way to exit item interactions
I think interactions with objects could use a clear X button or another visible option to exit the interaction.
Currently, the player has to press ESC to leave the interaction. This can also cause the camera issue mentioned above.
3. Reputation system
I think a reputation system could make the buying and selling gameplay much more interesting.
For example, players and NPCs could have a reputation level:
- High reputation: Customers are willing to pay more because they trust you.
- Low reputation: You may have to sell items for less because customers don't trust you.
- NPC sellers could work the same way.
For example, buying from a seller with high reputation could cost more, but you would have a much higher chance of receiving exactly what you paid for.
Buying from a seller with low reputation could be cheaper, but there would be a risk of being scammed or receiving something different from what was advertised.
This could create an interesting risk/reward system.
4. Shop progression
I think it would be interesting if the shop could grow over time.
For example:
Small shop → bigger shop → larger business
The player could eventually expand from selling games to selling:
- consoles,
- PC components,
- complete PCs,
- and potentially other gaming-related products.
This could give the player a long-term goal and make progression feel more rewarding.
5. More animations and sound effects
I think adding more small animations and sound effects could make the game feel more alive.
For example:
- lying down on the bed,
- opening the courier's door,
- more interactions with objects,
- additional sounds when picking up or putting down items.
Even small details like these could improve immersion.
6. Intro / short story introduction
I think a short intro cutscene or cinematic at the beginning could help establish the story and explain who the player character is.
It would also make it easier for the player to understand the situation and feel more connected to the character before starting the gameplay.
Overall, I enjoyed testing the game and I think it has a lot of potential. I hope some of this feedback is useful! Good luck with the development! 🙂
