I'm not too easily convinced, but both what the team said and you, it's enough for me to believe it. At first, it could vaguely be something cultural, but to then get not only defensive but to scrape away evidence is highly suspect.
Part of my reason for suspicion is that I've been on receiving end of blame from people who have manipulated and buried evidence removing my own ability to defend myself.
