Thank you so much. I’m really glad you liked it. I chose HTML because I’m very familiar with it and I knew I could work much faster with it during a jam. I also put a lot of time and effort into the game so using something I already knew well let me spend more time polishing the movement and visuals and overall feel instead of learning a new engine. Most of the game is JavaScript and Canvas. The movement physics and stars and trails and effects and UI are all made through code. For this kind of focused 2D game I think HTML was a really good choice. Godot would probably make more sense for something much bigger or more complex. I also really liked seeing how far I could push one HTML file.
