Just letting you know, I'm playing this now and it has gotten incredibly confusing, and here's why...
I'm keeping it as vague as possible so I don't spoil anything: I'm heading out on the mission, and chose to meet the person on the street. Problem is, it references things that didn't happen. I didn't spend much time with Amber at the chalet party, and August was in my bed when I left, yet he magically teleported to her place apparently.
I'll update if anything else comes up. I know you said there's lots of branches and it looks like some of those branches are crossed.
