Although there is not much in the way of mechanical systems, I still enjoyed this as a short experience. The interpretation of the chosen theme is quite a philosophical one. It's nice to encounter gentle reminders, like what you've created, about the things in life that we think we know but often forget in the chaos of our minds. They say we die twice: first biologically, then when we fade from all living memory. What a kind gesture to your grandfather.
