Cool game! But I'd like to leave some comments to improve the player experience.

  • The gunfire sounds are too loud
  • Freezes and lag on the first shot (I played on Linux; after the first few shots everything smoothed out)
  • It would be great if items were picked up automatically (ammo at the very least). Or even split items into categories: weapons, health packs, ammo.
  • It would be nice to have an option to turn off the CRT-style scanlines — they get in the way in dark areas.
  • The inventory system could use a fix: right now you can pick up an item when the inventory is already full, and the item just disappears.
  • It would be absolutely perfect to add some feedback when enemies hit the player — at minimum, it'd be nice if the player's portrait reacted with a sprite animation, Doom-style or something along those lines, or if the Hit Points label got jolted somehow with a tween.

Other than that, the game is interesting and fun (the fire ability in particular is a blast to use), though a bit tough — you run out of ammo too fast. Good luck with development!

Lots of great points, thank you for playing deeply! I don’t own linux, so can’t personally test. But tried to solve first shot lag with a pre-initialize cache that works or seems to , on windows, and made it buttery over here, ill see what i can do.

I’m not giving up on this one, but might charge down the line for a more complete version of it. It becoming a massive project for me, that basically all my modern game efforts stemmed from and now i’m coming back to Radiopunk better than before.

I’ll see about sound mixing too.

Worth noting on the html version the sound is totally messed from too many audio tracks basically.
