I got up to 51 seconds! Wow, the dash feels amazing to me personally, I love how responsive it feels and it actually feels like a dash... But it makes sense that it's hard to control so it's a tradeoff of accuracy versus speed.
You made it without an engine?! That's fricking cool. Would love to see more content personally, but I think this is the right amount of simple.
I am curious... What was the initial plan for the game?

Thanks for playing. Dude 51 seconds is huge, damn.
harrd to control so itâs a tradeoff of accuracy versus speed.
Yup yup. Totally intentional (Not really, just kept it instant because of less time)
What was the initial plan for the game?
Well, My initial plan was to have hill climb like game, where youâre driving with a sleeping baby in the back. Youâre supposed to balance your driving to not disturb the babyâs sleep. But that was over ambitious of me. I knew it was possible with Box2D but that doesnât mean itâs achievable, besides I was new to Box2D and I wasnât spending full time on the game.
This was actually my 3rd scoped down version of the idea. 2nd one was a billiards like gameplay, where youâre supposed to drop the Zs in a box, for them to be used as sleep but I didnât have much time left for that. So, I just ended up doing pick-up the Zs to increase sleep time, and a dash mechanic to make it a little interesting.
I didnât even wanted to do game over screen with time or game start screen, but ended up doing that + sounds on dash + pickups, so Iâm pretty happy with my submission so far.

Oh yeah, I have a similar issue with overscoping, too. My past few games all had the issue of big ideas, and regretting it on the last day where I just had to throw everything together...
I had a totally different idea as well this jam, but ended up reworking it too...
Billiards sounds interesting too... But yeah, I do think the driving game would have done wonders. I loved Hill Climb Racing as a kid, I am curious how you'd manage the balance aspects...
Ohhh, so it's a synthesizer for the sound effects. I never understood how they work but it seems like a very useful tool to have...
Anyways, thanks for replying! And great work on the game
