The very first one with math lol. The formula is x3+x3. I saw "5" and "5" so tried 5x3+5x3 but 30 doesn't work. I tried counting different things but 48, 55, 33, 66 didn't work either and I didn't see anything else in the level to count to get more numbers. The only thing to try is typing in all possible numbers which aren't too many... but I wanna save my sanity from George's tortureous little riddles xD
So sorry about the lack of clarity!! It was meant to have 3 gears each side collectively adding up to a "5" on the pipe, and so when it would ask 3 gears + 3 gears, it would be essentially 5+5. Sorry again for the inconvenience, BUT i updated it to have George supply better hints (and a direct answer at one point) for those on that very same puzzle.
