Maybe Spoiler Alerts:

I am back after playing shift 1 and 2 which I found really enjoyable and interesting and posted as a video.  But as I started to play Shift 3 I realized that there was something really lacking that same spark of creativity and danger that I was just getting excited for while playing Shift 1 and 2.

I really hope the developer reads these comments because I am sorry but I really felt like Shift 3 was written by AI it lacked a certain human quality to it and left me feeling like I was just wondering around for hours just clicking on the same things over and over again which was extremely boring, lackluster and didn't hold anything exciting.  There was no action which was disappointing except for the end but even that had nothing to do with Biker Boy and his supposedly yandere and crazy elements.

Spoilers:  Stop here if you don't want to know more about the game. I played Biker Boy Path 1 but I have no idea what Path 2 meant, and it would help if the developer explained that part in the game.

Yes, it answered some questions about biker boy and why he is like this, but it still left me feeling empty inside and had way too many mistakes and contradictions.  For one thing Biker Boy is supposed to be illiterate, yet he could in shift 3 write his name and text.  He also spoke like a strange and very monotonous textbook using big grammar words which is impossible without schooling.  It also didn't make sense that he was in the Army as they would never let someone in that couldn't read and write.  It would have been better if he was kidnapped as a child by some evil people, put in a basement and tortured and trained till he was a killing machine like an assassin that only knows how to kill and obey which would explain the mad dog aspect but he has triggers like he doesn't know how to talk to people or have relationships because of extreme isolation and is hiding his face because he was left in the dark so much that it's comforting to him and maybe his face because he was beaten till he had no identity left.  He had no schooling of course just the schooling of killing and obeying his handlers.  But he escaped and has been on the run ever since and now afraid to show his face in case they hunt him down.  That fabrication would have better explained his mannerisms and PTSD including the reason why he was built like a brick wall.

The MC is way too stupid also and seems to be just bullying Biker Boy which is not fair including they are too clingy and needy which made me not like the MC including their stupid phrases after a npc explained something MC would answer with "What" like they had no idea what was just explained to them even two times, a real dunce.  And whom spends hours at a stranger's workplace which is a dangerous place a garage including being allowed to just wonder around when they are not welcome to begin with.  It toke me forever to move the story forward just by clicking on each dark figure and things that were not relevant to the game, and the conversations became tedious without any action.  It just felt too unrealistic and the conversations were just too fake as strangers would not tell another stranger about their co-workers past who they work with for 2 years it just seemed too bizarre.

In conclusion I really hope that the developer looks at this and maybe moves forward with Shift 4 being more interesting and exciting give us some real Yandere Biker boy traits and craziness as you promoted it to be don't tell people that this is slow burn nobody likes slow burns in entertainment if they want to gain an audience at least in my opinion.  To keep them interested you need to give it passion, blood and crazy to keep them intrigued in the yandere world. Just saying.

I am not saying any of this to insult but please take this as constructive criticism only here as a writer myself I am also my worse critic.  In hindsight I really enjoy your game except for the torturous monotony of Shift 3 and dim-witted MC.  And I am looking forward to following your game to see how it develops hopefully with more drama and action.

thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed comment!🥺

i wont go through every point because a lot of it simply comes down to personal preference and i respect that shift 3 wasnt as enjoyable for you as the first two. i can definitely understand feeling like it was too slow or that there wasnt enough action and ill keep that in mind for shift 3.5 and Shift 4 and try to balance the slower parts with more tension and action.

BUT i absolutely have to address the "written by ai" part because NO i wrote everything myself. xD im actually sorry that the writing felt worse or less human to you but ive been actively improving my writing since i made those first shifts. shift 3 has a lot more dialogue and slower conversations and ive realized that this is actually the kind of writing i really enjoy doing now, so thats something im probably going to stick with. (sorry lol) xD

as for Biker Boy hes actually NOT illiterate! you probably missed some scenes because some of the information about him is hidden behind optional interactions so its completely okay. and yes, he was in the army, but the army isnt what "made" him the way he is. theres a lot more to his childhood and teenage years that i havent revealed yet. some of it has only been implied through subtext so far so youve really only seen a very small part of his past.

and regarding the alternative backstory you suggested where he was kidnapped as a child and raised by evil ppl to be an assassin… idk if you were being sarcastic but if you werent i personally WOULDNT go in that direction. it just sounds a little too anime-like for me... xD

but i genuinely appreciate the feedback about the pacing and lack of action. ill try to take that into account going forward without completely abandoning the slow burn style that i personally enjoy. :3

thank you again for playing the game and making a video about it!🥺

Thank you for taking to the time to comment also and not be mad or upset. :) I really appreciate that you are open minded.

It was difficult to find what to do next in Shift 3 I just felt like I was wandering aimlessly without any direction.

It's your baby so of course do what makes you happy and how you want it to be, it's your creation, :) but I hope you keep an open mind that with yandere games you don't want too slow of a burn.  I have played many and most fail because there is not enough of yandere elements and too much bantering back and forth that is just filler and may not be interesting or based around the psychotic obsessive elements that these types of games want to subject the reader.  Most people watching youtube videos or playing visual narrative games if bored within a few minutes usually drop it.

But like I said your game is one of the better ones and I thoroughly enjoyed shift 1 and 2.  It's got a lot of unique elements and new ideas which is awesome and the story is really interesting.

As for commenting on the AI part I apologize, I felt like there were certain parts that sounded AI because they just kept on rambling and repeating certain subjects which AI tends to do it also forgets often what it just said and I found that in certain aspects of the writing.

It also said in Shift 2 I believe when he was driving her home that he couldn't read or write if you go back, you can see that part when he asks for her number.

But please take this as a grain of salt you are doing a great job, and I am grateful for artists like you creating fantastic stories and games for us to enjoy it takes a lot of work I know for a fact being a writer and digital artist in my past.

Also, my background story that I made was not based on anime or being sarcastic many movies and stories have that kind of background not just anime you can see that kind of story in Korean movies or spy movies from Hollywood.  Even like a military operative or marine where they do go through like torturous experiences to get tougher and shape their mind to be stronger than any civilian.

In conclusion I can't wait to play the continuing saga of your game, and I think you have a real talent to make games that I would be happy to pay for, and I mean that.  :)
