I personally like the alien a bit better but that's because me and my wife (girls dating girls!) are like. Huge sci-fi nerds. And I think it could be really cute :3
As for sucking, no worries! My first (and only) VN was just a demo that was super buggy and bad, yet I'm still proud of it and it made me learn a lot. ^u^
