The game is not bugged. The instructions explain that you need to use the right mouse button to use the key.
I understand it may be easy to miss, but saying the game is bugged without checking the instructions first is a bit quick. If the drawer were actually bugged, it would be strange that so many other players have been able to complete the game without this issue.
