Thanks for your comment. The game runs slowly because of its heavy graphics workload, all programmed entirely in BASIC, which results in the kind of slowdown that was very common in games of the era. For the time being, my mods are mainly focused on fixing programming errors, remapping the controls, and adding cheat options. It's possible that, in the future, I'll revisit games like this one, which are well worth improving and, of course, speeding up.
For example, last night I finished porting a game that originally only worked with BASIC 1.0 (Amstrad CPC 464) so that it now runs under BASIC 1.1 (CPC 6128/GX4000). This involved modifying a considerable amount of the original code, particularly the routines responsible for graphics handling and on-screen movement. The game, called *Death Race* (published in Your Computer), will be released in a few weeks.
