Is something supposed to pop up when choosing the challenge difficulty? It just lets me choose correct or incorrect, nothing else pops up.

This is a challenge companion. Although I originally meant to have an in-game quiz or some other puzzle, that idea was scrapped and now you'll have to supply your own challenge/puzzle, with this essentially acting as a score and death timer tool, I recommend pairing it with something like Wordle Unlimited, Hangman, Quiz game, or other puzzle game in the background to use this with.
