When you're talking about characters being the same/different based on assets belonging to ThirtySeven, I assume you mean the character models might change? Because as far as I'm concerned, as long as their personalities remain unchanged (mostly, maybe a couple tiny tweaks here and there could be beneficial) and their looks are generally in the same ballpark aesthetically, I don't think it'll be a huge deal.
