I downloaded both the files and launcher but the game takes so long to load until it crashes. Do I need to unzip the compressed file first? I'm in Android.

And you're encountering issues, it could be a faulty download.
I'd recommend grabbing our Patreon version, as the servers on Itch may have caused an issue with the download here. You'll need a Patreon account, which is free to create if you don't have one
Beyond that, the games performance will vary device to device.
