This is beautiful! first the negative aspect out of the way, there are still some friction here and there in the exprience which for a game that heavily gets its enjoyment from aesthetic is unfortunate. in one of the stories I had to wiggle around my mouse for 2 minutes until I randomly found the little scratches all the way to the left.

That to the side, it has something in it that explores an essential part of how countdowns make us aware of the passage of time, limits on opportunities, impermenance of things etc. The aesthetic of it is strong as hell, and I would totally consume more of it given a lot more time for user testing to ensure the players passage and their exprience of getting to a meaning doesnt get bogged down by ux issues.

Great job!

Thank you so much for the feedback!

I'm really sorry about those UX issues, they're definitely a big problem. Basically, I'm not an artist by any stretch of the imagination. So these simple shapes and line arts took up almost all of the time I could dedicate to the jam. So if the UX feels 'haphazard' or 'slapped together' at all, it is!

I really enjoyed the experience, and getting a chance to work with such talented voice actors, so after the jam ends I'm thinking I should come back to this and polish it up some more.

I'm glad you enjoyed the experience. When I first heard the theme, my immediate thought was about anticipation. The thinking and the feeling that people might go through in the middle of any sort of countdown.

Thanks so much for playing, I look forward to trying out High Noon!
