Out of curiosity, have you played the game Outerwilds. If you havent dont look anything up and just play the game because it heavily relies on story.  This game feels like outerwilds where you experience cosmic horror from something so big and powerful (in this case the sun). Anyways, it is quite an atmospheric game. One thing I would add would be a little bit of background music since there is a lot of waiting in this game and the music can add to tension.

I love Outer Wilds! I started working on the simulation engine (which can do way more than can be seen in this game) when I realized there's no way to put your ship in a stable orbit around planets in Outer Wilds. I thought about the idea of being able to orbit planets or take other actions while you have downtime for whatever you want to do inside your ship, but also with completely realistic scale and distances. There's definitely a lot missing in this experience which I hope to do in a proper game. Thanks for the comment!
