Hey! I'm doing better thanks to starting my med course. I'm back to reviewing the game. I'm making some changes you'll like, including making tricktail (and foxlights) damage passives no longer triggering retaliation damage like thorns. Most of it is bug fixes and quality of life, but I'm considering the best angles for your other feedback points, mainly Goblin feeling weak, curse feeling too strong, and the lore question. I've been wanting to add my own voiceover and animatic to the game (imagine something like Darkest Dungeon's narrator) but not sure yet. I'll keep you posted!
I was wondering, however, if you'd be able to show me some run stats for your goblin and kitsune playthroughs if possible? Would help me understand the situation better from another perspective. Helps to see what others build.

That's great to hear, both that you're starting to feel better and you're working on some improvements! I think it would be incredibly cool to have some voiced narration in the game! If you need help with any story/writing feel welcome to hit me up, I try to keep my writing and editing rates extremely reasonable, especially for other independent creators!
I have been continuing to have a lot of fun and I've even managed to clear a couple runs with the goblin out of raw tenacity lol.
Also one thing that started out super minor but has gotten on my nerves a bit: The buttons that reorganize your hand for you would be better as toggles so I don't have to press it every single turn to sort my hand by letter. Super minor but it does become a peeve pretty quick and has led to me accidentally hitting the end turn button at the start of my turn multiple times 😅
I also really appreciate that the game saves after every fight. If I have a crash or just need to step away it's nice to be able to come back and pick up where I left off.

Damn that's actually a good idea regarding the sort toggle. I can implement that in the next patch.
Imo, I think goblin might need a starting heal glyph so I might swap scavenge for Patch Up in his starting deck, and scavenge might get a buff as well as a couple of attack glyphs being buffed.
By the way, in last night's update, I went ahead and removed the demo gating for all blessings, relics and glyphs. So now the full roster is unlockable! You can go to the lost woods enchanted well and use wishing stones to unlock whatever you want (and upgrade things too).
Regarding your run info, that is the right place! But if you click a run then click inspect or click the same run again, it will pull up the detail screen of that run.

Yeah I think that would be a huge help! Especially for the first couple of battles having no healing glyphs can be brutal. Now that I've played him a bit more I think the main things I can suggest that would buff him nicely would be what you mentioned, fixing the thorns buff for sure would be a huge help, giving him more defensive abilities would be good, since he can easily get horrifically overpowered by later-stage enemies like the soultaker and the hunter, and for the more aggressive builds giving him more options for things that pierce thorns without him getting hurt. One of the things that makes the kitsune so strong is their ability to draw so easily with the flash cards, maybe giving him a couple flash cards with different effects could be helpful.
Edit: I made this comment before reading the update notes for the full update so some of my goblin feedback there may no longer be applicable, please take with a grain of salt.
